Let op: Start in Luxemburg

Let op: zoals reeds meermaals gecommuniceerd start de SLS dit jaar in Luxemburg.

SLS 2023 – for non Dutch participants

Welcome!

The 59th edition of the SLS will be held from 31 August to 3 September 2023 and starts, depending on the availability of the circuit, in Nürburg (Germany) or in Luxemburg and finishes in Scheveningen (The Netherlands).

The SLS was founded in 1952, as a 24-hours event between the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and has since evolved into a modern multi-day regularity rally that has remained close to its origins. Professionally set out, with a sporty and friendly atmosphere on the way.

ROUTE

In 2023 the SLS route runs through The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium. We use extensive time schedules, keep an average speed of less than 50 km/h, and apply all the usual route instructions of modern regularity rally’s. Peter Rovers and Bart den Hartog again will provide a fantastic ‘scenery’ and a challenging route!

UNIQUE ATMOSPHERE, EXCELLENT CARE

SLS is known for its warm, cozy and also competitive atmosphere. The character of SLS is partly determined by the fact that all participants stay together in one good hotel every evening and enjoy drinks and dinner together.

At the finish party on Sunday, friends and family of the participants are welcome to attend the prize-giving ceremony during the walking dinner.

We are doing everything we can to keep up the level of SLS. Not only in terms of the challenges for drivers and navigators, but also in terms of overall care. And the fun off course!

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

In order to guarantee the quality of SLS, the organization has set the maximum number of participants at 150 crews.

From 4 December, 10.00am interested parties can register on our website for this 59th edition. The registration fee for the 59th SLS is € 2.895, -. An overnight stay before the start from Wednesday 30 on Thursday 31 August is included.

We hope to welcome you in 2023!

Cees de Jong, Peter Rovers, Yolanda Zijl

Entry conditions

In order to register for the SLS 2023 you must comply with the entry conditions as follows:

The SLS 2023 will start in Nürburg, Germany or Luxemburg on August 31rd, 2023 and will finish in Scheveningen, The Netherlands on September 3rd, 2023. The Supplementary Regulations SLS 2023 are applicable as well as bulletins to be issued by the organization.

Well presented and well maintained cars built before December 31st, 1976 will be admitted to the event, provided they fulfil the statutory requirements of the country of registration.

Throughout the rally, each crew member must have valid third party liability motor vehicle insurance, and must be insured for participation in regularity rallies, including manoeuvrability tests. The geographic area of coverage must include: The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. It is the crew members’ responsibility to arrange this insurance or extension to their existing insurance policies.

Mechanical, semi-mechanical and electronic tripmeters or odometers, which may or may not be equipped with average speed monitoring, are permitted during the event. However, these tripmeters or odometers must not have a GPS function that can be used for localization. Digital stopwatches and watches may be used. The use of a compass is permitted. The presence in the car and the use of (mobile) navigation equipment is not permitted.

Categories

Participants can register for the expert, sport or tour class. In all categories, the entire route from start to Scheveningen must be covered. The difference between the expert, sport and tour classes is in the manner in which information about the route is supplied, the length of the route and the average speed to be driven. The expert class is intended for the most experienced crews; they cover the longest route and the programme includes an evening section. The sport class is also intended for experienced crews and the tour class for those with the least experience. The organisation explicitly reserves the right to assign crews to a higher or lower class than the one they have requested, if the organisation deems the crew’s experience better matched with a different class.
